Metal Recycling in the Mining Industry

One of Globe Metal®’s specialty areas is the metal scraps recycling for the mining industry. We buy hammer bits, tricones, DTH drills, cutters and a variety of other tungsten containing materials from both mining operations and scrap dealers.

When used mining equipment is scrapped, there are certain items that get thrown into the regular steel scrap. Some of these items may be worth substantially more than steel scrap. With a few simple photos we can identify these items for you and buy them at above scrap steel pricing. Cutting tools and mining drilling tools like tri-cones, hammers and polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) drill bits are made from tungsten carbide, an extremely hard metal needed to break through rocks while drilling into the ore body or hydrocarbon formation. The price of tungsten containing materials is way higher than regular steel scrap.

Globe Metal® is an international metal recycler with the technology and knowhow to process different metal waste streams into quality materials for both producers and end-users.

The recycling of mining equipment and machinery involves transportation, removal, cutting, separating and extracting. Recycling with Globe Metal® is simple and fast, and you are guaranteed to receive fair market prices for your materials.

Globe Metal® buys a full range of metal mining and exploration equipment for recycling:

  • DTH hammers & bits
  • Reverse circulation hammers & bits
  • Rotary drilling tools
  • Casing systems
  • Pina cutters
  • Molinos SAC scrap
  • Metal liners
  • Metal shielding
  • Mill balls

Brands we purchase include Epiroc (previously Atlas Copco), SandvikMincon, and Robit.

We also purchase waste streams, surpluses or liquidations of mineral concentrates and others:

  • Metal containing Tailings
  • Metal slags (Ni, Co, Cu, among others)
  • Catalysts

To expedite the process, please provide us with the following essential information:

  1. Approximate weight of your material
  2. Types of metals
  3. Whether the material is mixed with other materials or kept by itself
  4. How the metal is stored or contained
  5. Photos of the material

Once we receive these information, we could offer the best solutions and proceed to recycle your materials efficiently.
